Both organisations will work together to identify potential job opportunities and match people to the jobs on offer. Papworth Trust's disabled service users can then apply for suitable positions going through the Council's usual recruitment procedures.

 The Papworth Trust will also support any District Council employees who acquires a disability whilst in employment.

John Hill, Chief Executive at East Cambridgeshire District Council said: "The District Council currently employs over 200 people so the opportunity to work in partnership with the Papworth Trust is very important. If we are to continue to recruit talented staff from all parts of the community, we want to employ the best possible people for a vacancy which arises at the Council. So working with the Trust will help us in this process."

Matthew Lester, Director of Operations at the Papworth Trust said: "6.9 million people of working age in the UK are disabled, and nearly half of them are not employed. Through this partnership, we will be working with East Cambs to attract and retain the right calibre of staff, and helping disabled people find and stay in employment."
