Newham Council is searching for Shining Through Award winners from ten years ago.

Friday, November 21 will see the tenth Shining Through Awards ceremony take place at the Old Town Hall, Stratford. The council is keen to invite winners from the 1998 awards ceremony to the event where the achievements of Newhams children and young people are celebrated.

The council is searching for the 1998 young sports people of the year, Sarah Bowen and Adam Boom, young achievers of the year, Nadine Down and Pierre Bolangi, and young creative artist of the year Nadina Smith.

Mayor of Newham, Sir Robin Wales, said: The Shining Through Awards ceremony is always a very special evening. I hope the 1998 winners are found as it would make the tenth anniversary celebration extra special. I look forward to meeting them on November 21.

If you know a 1998 award winner email: shiningthroughawards@newham.gov.uk  or call Ellen Doran on 020 8430 2246.
