TODAY IN COMMUNITIES

The youngsters took pictures at various locations including West Ham Uniteds Boleyn Ground in Upton Park, the Abbey Mills Pumping Station in Stratford, and Royal Victoria Dock.

Young Mayor Zuhayb Ahmed said: It is an inspiration to meet such budding artists. The project has allowed them to express their pride and influences in the local area. It is refreshing to meet other young people who feel so strongly about their local landmarks and community.

Artist Jodie Murphy, from Custom House, said: I enjoyed the project. I learned a lot about photography and will pursue this further to learn more techniques. The project was about identity and for me this was about my mum. Thats why I wanted her in the photo. Its great to see everyone's work here on display.

The photo portraits are being displayed in various community buildings around the Canning Town and Custom House area and can be seen on hoardings opposite Canning Town Station near The Place in Silvertown Wa
