Housing Hartlepool has joined forces with Frank Haslam Milan (FHM) North East in a £4 million regeneration project.
Housing Hartlepool has awarded a major new build scheme in Hartlepool town to the community regeneration and affordable housing specialist FHM, which is part of the Keepmoat group – bolstering FHM’s work in the social housing sector.
The development at Warren Road and Smyth Place in Hartlepool will include 50 affordable homes built for rent and shared ownership as part of a mixed tenure development.
The scheme will be partly funded by the Housing Corporation, which will provide £1.75m of Social Housing Grant.
Work is due to get underway on the development of two, three and four bedroom houses and two bedroom bungalows in December.
Catherine Purdy, Housing Hartlepool Chief Executive, said: “This project reflects the fact that Housing Hartlepool now is moving into a new phase where we will be concentrating on new homes as well as improving existing properties.
“These affordable homes will be a welcome addition to the town’s housing stock and should help ease the pressures which have surrounded the housing market during the last few months.
“We are delighted to be working with FHM, a leader in the delivery of community regeneration and affordable social housing, on this project which will provide much needed housing in Hartlepool.”
David Mellor, Managing Director of FHM North East, said: “This is yet another significant success for FHM North East and we look forward to working in partnership with Housing Hartlepool.
“It also allows us to further boost the delivery of new build projects with our partners in the social housing sector.”
