Disabled people were given a bigger voice at the Papworth Trust user involvement event held in Newmarket on Monday 21 July. The event at the Rowley Mile Conference Centre focussed on service users being more than just a user of services.
Adrian Bagg, Chief Executive began the event by explaining why user involvement and people having a voice in the organisation is so important. He said: The event demonstrates the fact that we value and respect service users and we welcome the part they play in shaping and influencing the organisation.
The aim for the day was for services to be open to suggestions and innovative ways of involving people. Throughout the day services were displayed in the Market Place and delegates were able to talk further and ask questions.
As well as different service areas providing information there was a stall and session for the current User Council.
