NOMINATIONS are being sought for a prestigious award that celebrates the community heroes that make Richmondshire great.
Richmondshire District Council is once again searching for the people who have made a real difference to their local communities whether its through their team spirit, business expertise or just sheer hard work.
The Citizenship Awards proved such a success last year they will be run again for 2008, with the same categories.
A total of four awards will be presented:

Councillor Melva Steckles, Leader of Richmondshire District Council, said: We ran our Citizenship Awards for the first time last year, and we were delighted by the range of nominations we received. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the contribution made to life in the District by so many dedicated people and so we were very keen to do it again!
We know that since the last awards, a lot of fantastic community work has gone on, and so we are now seeking nominations for the 2008 awards.
Nomination forms are available on our website, richmondshire.gov.uk/debate, or by phoning Sarah Jenkins on 01748 829100. Any individual, group or organisation (public, private or voluntary sector) can make a nomination. All nominations must be received by July 14.
The overall winners will be announced at this years State of the District debate, which will be held on September 17.
