PRESS RELEASE

Young people are being urged to speak out about what they want to see in the Hinckley area at a brand new meeting.

People can suggest new ideas for activities and facilities as well as find out what is currently available at the new Community Forum event.

Representatives from local authorities, the police and NHS will be on hand to outline topics and take part in a 'question time' session.

The meeting, being held on 28th January, is the first of a new kind allowing people to get involved in local decision making and help shape services. All people need to do to take part is turn up.

Other topics being discussed at this meeting include local policing and health services.

David Parsons, Leader of Leicestershire County Council, said: "It is very important that people have the opportunity to influence the public service they receive. Community forums give everybody in the area the chance to meet their elected representatives and to 'have their say' about how local services can be improved.

"Please go along and tell us how we can help you."

Roger Ellis, Mayor of Earl Shilton and Chair of the Hinckley Area Forum, said: "I do hope that people will take this opportunity to join a debate about local issues with local councilors and service providers to make our area a better place for all of us.”

The meeting of the Hinckley Area forum is held on 28th January, from 7-9pm in Committee Room 4, Florence House, Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council Offices

The Hinckley Area Community Forum covers Hinckley, Burbage, Barwell and Earl Shilton.
