Wandsworth residents can be trained in jewellery making, CV writing, parenting skills and cookery classes.

All residents are able to apply for training courses, with 30% of places available to non-Servite residents. This great opportunity is available because Servite Houses has successfully secured £25,000 of funding for resident training from Wandsworth Borough Council.

The funding will help residents learn new skills and gain a recognised qualification through National Open College Network (NOCN) accredited courses. Other courses on offer include: child tax credits, gardening, using IT applications and sign language.

There are also a number of courses for young people aged 13-19 in Music Technology where they will learn things like: street dance, singing and song-writing and radio production.

Following a successful assessment of our services, policies and centres we became recognised as a NOCN (National Open College Network) provider.

We (Servite Houses) were in direct competition for funding with other Wandsworth adult education providers such as South Thames College.
Sally Plumb, Senior Community Regeneration Officer said: “Part of our success is knowing what our residents want and accommodating those needs. The training will focus on helping residents develop skills and qualifications to aid employment and career development. Residents taking part in the training will also be offered the opportunity to take part in Servite's Volunteering to work project."
