A strike by some Tube drivers and signalling problems led to long delays for thousands of commuters today.
A 24-hour strike by 150 drivers and station staff of transport union the RMT resulted in London Underground's Bakerloo line being suspended between Queen's Park and Harrow and Wealdstone stations in north west London.
There were also severe delays on the Victoria line after a signalling problem led to a suspension of services between Seven Sisters and King's Cross.
A signalling problem at Tower Hill also resulted in delays on the Circle line.
The Bakerloo line dispute is over new staffing levels at some stations which the RMT says will increase the risk of assault for station staff and drivers.
RMT general secretary Bob Crow, who was on a picket line at Elephant and Castle Tube station today, said: ""This is a simple dispute about the safety of our members, and the 95% vote for strike action should have told the company everything they need to know about their plan.
"It is our members who are out there trying to deliver a service in demanding circumstances, and their employer shouldn't be attempting to impose changes that make that job harder and more dangerous."
