Wallasey resident, Adam Lynch, scooped two awards at the recent Regenda Resident of the Year Awards winning both the Regenda Resident of the Year 2007 Award and The Commitment to Improving Services Award 2007.
Bootle resident, Deniece Courtney recently became the Regenda Young Person of the Year for 2007.
Both are Maritime Housing Association’s residents and were awarded the accolades in recognition for their hard work and involvement in constantly striving towards improving their neighbourhoods.
They were chosen from over 50 residents from around the Regenda Group, which were nominated by Regenda staff and residents and judged by last year’s winning residents.
As part of Adam’s involvement, he delivered training to Regenda staff and was actively involved at challenge events, in project teams and within the organisation’s Regional Consultative Committee.
Bernard Gallagher, Regenda’s Chief Executive said “Adam always finds time, despite studying full time for a university degree, to being actively involved in helping us with our ongoing continuous improvement programme to improve our services to our residents.
"In addition, he recently was part of a very successful project team which was tasked to make staff more aware of residents with individual needs.
Both awards were given to Adam in recognition of Regenda’s appreciation for his enthusiasm and commitment.”
Adam received his awards at a gala award ceremony at Park Hall Hotel, Charnock Richard in June where the nominees enjoyed a three course dinner, followed by the Awards ceremony and then dancing into the night.
Bernard Gallagher, continued “Deniece is an extremely active member of her community, constantly working towards improving her neighbourhood. She particularly champions the causes of Young People there, ensuring their opinions are listened to.”
Deneice has been heavily involved in organising Regenda’s annual Youth Voice conference in Liverpool for the past three years, culminating in her speaking at the event in front of 500 people about issues affecting young people today.
Her Award was presented to Deneice on a fun, action packed activity day in Lancashire where all the Young Person nominees were able to try out various sports such as abseiling, high wall climbing and orienteering.
