The Policeman’s role as a traditionally helpful soul is under threat…from your local librarian!

A staggering 98% of Leicestershire’s library customers have rated library workers helpfulness as either good or very good in the recent Public Library User Survey (PLUS). 18 libraries and 3 mobile libraries scored 100% ratings for staff helpfulness.

“I am so pleased with the result. I know just how helpful the library staff are, but it’s good to have it confirmed by the public”” said Margaret Bellamy, Head of Service”

Libraries answer some pretty weird and wacky queries, such as finding out the anticipated high tides in Plymouth for 2008! If they can’t answer the question, then they will know of someone who can. Web users can also log onto the “Enquire “ 24/7-enquiry service.

They can also help you to choose just the right book, show you how to surf the internet or trace your family tree.
