A leading housing and regeneration group has elected a new chairman.
Rodney Pitts, a qualified chartered accountant and non-executive director of a midlands health authority, is the new chairman of the LHA-ASRA group, with Sadru Visram as the deputy chairman.
Rodney Pitts has run his own successful accountancy practice since 1996 and has extensive financial and taxation experience, looking after the affairs of substantial clients.
After qualifying as a chartered accountant in 1980, he worked for a major international firm in Canada for four years. He joined BDO Binder Hamlyn in 1985 and became a partner in 1989. Following a merger in 1994, he remained a partner in Deloitte & Touche until leaving to establish his own accountancy practice.
Mr Pitts also serves as non-executive director of Birmingham and The Black Country Strategic Health Authority and is Member of Court of the University of Birmingham, and Chairman of Job’s Close Residential Home for the Elderly.
He succeeds Michael Howells who retires having been LHA chairman since 2002 and an LHA board member since 1996.
He said: "I would like to thank Michael for all his work since joining the LHA board in 1996. I take the helm at a very exciting time in the evolution of LHA-ASRA following our recent record development grant allocation and approval from the Housing Corporation for Family First to join the group.”
