More from Hackney Council

A Hackney Council Spokesperson said: "Hackney’s logo for the Olympic and Paralympic Games represents our pride in being a host borough for the Games

"Our logo is distinctive in colour and shape and is clearly marked with the Hackney brand.  Created for Hackney, it is clearly not a copy of the NRAS logo and there is no question of these two logos being confused.

"Nike's use of the Council logo was a clear copy of a coprighted original and bore the borough's name. The two instances are in no way similar."
