Your Homes Newcastle (YHN) has successfully gained an eviction order against a family in North Kenton.

A number of complaints had been received by YHN about the Rudd family after they moved into their new home at 10 Emden Road. These included noise and other forms of anti social behaviour.

YHN staff contacted the family, who were still in the introductory part of their tenancy, and warned them that, unless they stopped behaving that way, action would be taken against them and they could face eviction.

The anti-social behaviour continued, leaving managers with no choice but to instigate proceedings against them.

In a hearing at Newcastle Crown Court, the judge gave the family two weeks to leave the property after they failed to attend the hearing.

John Lee, Chief Executive of Your Homes Newcastle, said, "We are pleased that the judge recognised the serious nature of this kind of anti social behaviour. All our tenants have a responsibility not just to us but to their neighbours."

He added: "No one should have to put up with this kind of behaviour and people should be in no doubt that we will take the appropriate action to protect people from it.”
