“Britain’s border security controls are among the toughest in the world, and by using the latest technology we are continuing to improve our ability to ensure only legitimate travellers and goods enter Britain.”
Phil Woolas, Minister of State for Borders and Immigration, November 2009

Capita’s 2nd Annual Policing the Borders Conference brings together key stakeholders to discuss the latest challenges, developments and improvements to the UK’s extensive border security infrastructure and operations. The Government is committed to strengthening our borders and the Policing and Crime Act 2009 will enhance security planning at airports in the UK by improving inter-agency cooperation.

Bringing together small and large border crossing experience, learn from expert local, national and global speakers on best practice for addressing the ever-changing challenges facing border policing.

This must attend event covers the following key areas:

  • National and European strategic developments
  • Enhanced practices for maritime and aviation security
  • Counter terrorism legislation and its impact
  • Community engagement and threat recognition
  • Freight and cargo awareness

Attend this important event to learn from national guidance and practical examples on how to realise effective deployment of resources to mitigate threats and risks associated with policing our borders.
