Hounslow PCT has agreed to allow their staff that are members of
Thamesbank Credit Union to make payments to the credit union
through a deduction from their pay.
A meeting between the credit union’s administrators, Credit
Union Solutions, Nikki Hill HR manager and Margaret Young from the
Payroll department earlier this week cleared the process to be
employed and agreed to tell staff the good news.
Graham Tomlin from Credit Union Solutions said.
“This is great news for the credit union which has a long
history of providing financial services to staff at Hounslow
Council, Hounslow Homes and Co-op Homes. Hounslow PCT has about 700
staff and our approach to the PCT was prompted by their staff
asking us to discuss this issue with the PCT management.
The most successful credit unions in the UK are those with a strong
employer base such as the Police, Fire Fighters, British Airways
and of course dozens of Councils, Primary Care Trusts and
Hospitals.
Having the payments coming direct from their pay really helps the
member to save and in these times this is an absolute necessity.
With banks less willing to lend, our loans are also proving to be
more attractive and with employed members we can be that little bit
more relaxed about the decision to lend.”
Thamesbank Credit Union offers a number of savings accounts
including those for Christmas, Holidays, Education and season
tickets.
Thamesbank Credit Union charges a fixed rate of interest on its
loans and makes no charge for early repayment. In addition they
also have an emergency loan which is paid through a pre paid debit
card.
Any employer that would like to provide this payroll deduction
facility for their staff in Hounslow, Hillingdon or Ealing should
call or e mail Credit Union Solutions.
