Midlothian Council selects IBS OPENSystems as new software provider

IBS OPENSystems, a leading provider of software and services to Local Authorities and housing organisations, has signed a contract with Midlothian Council to replace its revenues and benefits software.

The contract includes the adoption of a suite of IBS OPEN products, including OPENRevenues for Council Tax and Benefits, OPENExec performance management tool, OPENVision front-office contact centre solution, OPENAccess customer portal and OPENQuery ad-hoc reporting tool. Midlothian Council is also considering the subsequent implementation of OPENMobile visit management system and possible implementation of OPENRevenues for NDR including Business Improvement Districts. The new system is set to go live in October 2009 for 80 users.

To drive performance levels around customer service, Midlothian Council decided that it needed to change its existing revenues and benefits IT system, which it felt had become outdated and lacked the flexibility needed to deliver improved services. After an extensive review of the market, Midlothian chose IBS OPENSystems over the other key competitors in the sector.
