January 2010
24housing – like its post-Christmas editor – is looking a little fatter. There are so many new features this month we’ve had to increase the number of pages to make room for the extra content. I’m really excited about the debut issue of 24housing for 2010: we’re launching our first ever competition; we start our exclusive new series looking back at seminal moments in housing over the last six decades; and we’re the first to tune in to the latest picture on the sector’s readiness for digital switchover.
Resolutions are an inevitable fixture at this time of the year, and as well as asking for yours we have made a significant pledge of our own. Climate change. We’re not promising to heal the world, but we are hoping to help make it a better place! We know that social landlords are at the forefront of the retrofit movement, leading where others will follow with some innovative, cost-effective and planet-saving projects across the UK. Now is the time to share your achievements and inspire others, as 24housing invites you to enter your flagship projects in our Retrofit Best Practice Award 2010. Click on the Retrofit tab on this website to read more and to find out how to enter.
I’m off to the gym, but I’m more than happy that the magazine is carrying a little extra weight this month. Happy New Year!
