September 2009
A new month, and a new look for 24housing. I’m delighted to reveal our fresh new design, new features and new faces.
24housing has always brought you news and views from key figures in the social housing arena, and this month we launch a significant new platform for some of those most influential voices. Chief Executive of the NHF, David Orr, steps up to the plate as his team gears up for their annual conference in Birmingham. We interview keynote speaker, Shadow Housing Minister Grant Shapps, who already has his gloves off in anticipation of a general election.
As the second phase of the TSA’s National Conversation comes to an end, we look at the history of tenant participation, and ask if some housing organisations are simply paying lip service to the principal of putting residents at the heart of decision-making.
Along with improvements to our On the Job careers pages, we introduce a new section – Best Practice. Whether it’s travelling from Land’s end to John O’Groats (literally) to share experiences in Take Two and InHouse, tapping into the knowledge of the specialists on the new Legal and Finance pages, or getting the lowdown on the best way to tackle topical issues in our new “expert” feature Work in Practice, this section is designed to do exactly what it says in the tin – share best practice on practical issues relevant to you and your organisation.
