Singing ‘9 to 5’ at all hours of day and night has resulted in a noise ban for an Armley resident in Leeds.

As well as bombarding her neighbours in Heights Drive with loud repeat performances of the Dolly Parton ic, Diane Duffin also subjected them a range of other noisy disturbances and anti-social behaviour over several months.

Council and police officers confiscated noise-making equipment from Ms Duffin’s property. In a joint operation, they removed TVs, DVD players, a computer and games consoles, and also a number of compact discs and games.

As well as the equipment seizure, Ms Duffin will now face legal action for breaches of previous noise abatement notices. Legal proceedings are also underway to evict her from her property, and to gain an Asbo on her.

Councillor Steve Smith, executive board member responsible for tackling noise nuisance said: “We do not accept noisy anti-social behaviour in Leeds. This is an excellent result, and I hope it will bring some peace and quiet to Diane Duffin’s long-suffering neighbours.

“I hope she now learns her lesson, and starts to behave acceptably. If not, we will take appropriate further action.”
