Working knowledge of Housing Act 1996, part V1 + V11 and associated legislation (i.e Children Act 1989, Community Care).
Experience in the preparation of food.
Cooking ability.
MAIN DUTIES:
Undertakes the admission and interviewing of clients to assess, identify and act upon their housing needs and to offer support to improve health and social well being. Assists with support work with service users involving advocacy on behalf of the service use and engaging the appropriate agencies and services as required.
Undertakes activities relating to the control of hostel communities ensuring a structured approach.
Receives payments and maintains routine and confidential records.
Assists with the supervision of staff and gives advice and guidance to other staff and operatives.
Undertakes general domestic duties e.g. laundry work, cleaning and the provision of meals and snacks as necessary.
Ensures the maintenance and security of the building.
Maintains discipline, following approved guidelines, including eviction of residents following Council procedures.
Undertakes administrative processes including report writing and statistical monitoring and maintaining accurate and up to date case records.
Maintains efficient and reliable liaison and co-operation with other individuals, agencies and community resources.
Deals with emergency situations, involving Management as required.
