Housing Advice and Support Worker

Swim are looking for an advice worker to work on a full time temporary contract for the next 6 months.
The post will be to deliver home energy advice to vulnerable older people in Derby and to promote grant aid and other financial assistance for home energy efficiency improvements.
The main duties will be to:
Carry out home visits.
Deal with a range of queries and investigate any issues/complaints that may arise.
Make contact with frontline workers across the City, and use a range of awareness raising techniques, including training, events and publications to give them an awareness of the importance of fuel poverty, how to recognise the signs of fuel poverty and a knowledge of the services to which they can refer vulnerable people.
Develop an effective and simple to use referral system to tie in with the Council's Home Energy Advice Service.
Work with partners to develop a comprehensive project plan and a multi-agency communication plan
Produce appropriate publicity materials and organise home energy events
Give talks and presentations to community and voluntary organisations, staff and other appropriate organisations.
Create and maintain good relationships with partners, other professionals and clients.
Ensure that the initiative is contributing towards the wider aims of reducing excess winter deaths, tackling fuel poverty, and achieving targets detailed within Derby's Affordable Warmth Strategy.
Prepare financial data, progress reports, statistical analysis, etc. as required.
Maintain and update records, systems and databases.
Attend meetings as required, and progress any issues arising
Produce an end of project report outlining the successes of the project, any learning points and making recommendations for future activity or projects.
