Swim are looking for a full time locum Physiotherapist to work in staffordshire.
Working as a registered practitioner, you will work within a multi-disciplinary/multi-agency team and undertake a physiotherapy role for a Social Services Enablement Team. You will be expected to diagnose, assess, identify and agree goals and treatments using evidence based treatment programmes for a wide variety of needs and multiple pathologies. You will meet patient needs in the most appropriate location in the community e.g. Step down beds, Enablement, residential homes, etc.
To act as a source of expertise to other members of the team which may include primary care team, other health professionals, Acute Services, Social Workers, voluntary sector, private sector homes, patients and their carers.
To triage referrals based on clinical need and direct to the most appropriate provision e.g. Intermediate Care, Reablement or domiciliary Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy.
To supervise less experienced grades, Enablement Assistants, support staff, differing agencies and students from own and other professions.
The post holder may be responsible for patients who are registered within a number of different primary care practices within the geographical area and will also accept some referrals from acute services, other specialist teams and other agencies.
You will be responsible for the delegation of physiotherapy tasks to junior grades, technicians and assistants and will be accountable for this delegation of workload.
You will be responsible for recommending appropriate equipment to meet patient's needs, monitoring, cleaning and safe disposal of the equipment as necessary (Medical Devices Agency Policy).
