A leading greater London Primary Care Trust is currently looking for a dedicated and hardworking individual to assume the position of Public Health Information Analyst. The successful applicant will be assigned with the critical function of delivery and quality assurance of a wide ranging programme of research and analysis.

The successful applicant who will report to the Associate Director Public Health Policy will have the following key responsibilities.

- To act as a resource for data analysis, interpretation and presentation, utilising spreadsheets, maps, and analytical tools to report on results

- To support, liaise and work with, public health information teams and professionals in public health organisations and networks

- To provide data, analysis and interpretation in response to requests for information, from a range of public health data sets including mortality data and hospital episode statistics.

- To take the lead responsibility for designated areas and data sets as agreed with line manager.

A successful candidate will be accomplished and confident carrying out the following duties within the role of Public Health Information Analyst:

Validate, analyse, interpret and present data from different sources, and for different audiences and purposes, as appropriate

To maintain, and develop where appropriate, software skills in spreadsheets, databases and statistics.

To extract data from large databases (including Hospital Episode Statistics (HES), births and deaths) held by the Directorate, using SQL and other query tools.

To represent the Directorate at regional and national meetings, giving formal presentations to large and small groups.

To liaise with public health information teams and professionals, both locally and nationally, and to promote active collaboration between information specialists in partner organisations
