Stem cell therapy can be used for cosmetic purposes in the EU
Breast enlargement, treatment of wrinkles and facial rejuvenation now can be achieved with improved success rates.
"For some time we have known, that stem cells exist in fat and that we remove these cells in liposuction,", said cosmetic surgeon DDr. Karl-Georg Heinrich.
"We have learned what we can do with these valuable living cells and as a result we now harvest them instead of dumping them."
DDr. Heinrich successfully uses stem cell therapy in his institute, making him the first in Europe to take this pioneering step.
In Japan the use of stem cells in cosmetic medicine has been evaluated and based on these data the technique is now approved in the European Union.
"The future has already begun," said DDr. Heinrich, "We now can use the patient's own living cells as a filler where ever more fullness is needed.
"Simply speaking we now have a method which allows us to take the best part of own fat, living stem cells and use them optimally."
This could open new horizons in aesthetic medicine: Breast enlargement with stem cells provides volume gain achieved not by plastic but by living tissue, making the enlarged breast will feel and look perfectly natural.
DDr. Heinrich: "With stem cells we not only get 100% natural results - these will also last a lifetime."
