Residents can find out how they can plug into their own energy supply at home
Residents of Woodbridge in Suffolk are being invited to a special "Power to the People" event to find out how they can plug into their own energy supply at home.
The Energy Saving Trust Advice Centre Anglia (ESTACA), in partnership with Suffolk Coastal, has linked up with manufacturers and accredited installers of solar panels, wind turbines, heat pumps and biomass burners for the "Power to the People" event.
There will be exhibitors and their products, energy advisors and other experts to inform and answer questions. The event starts at 6.30pm on Thursday, August 30 at the Woodbridge Community Hall.
Cllr Andrew Nunn, Cabinet Member for the Natural Environment said: "When we held a similar event last year we had to turn people away as it proved so popular and this night promises to be a big success as well."
"People are increasingly concerned about the impact of climate change, and increasing numbers of people are taking up the option of having their own home renewable energy supply,"
"This event offers our residents the chance to come along and find out what are the options for them, get some free expert advice and perhaps decide to plug into the right alternative energy resource for their home."
The main focus of the evening will be how and when to install renewables such as solar, wind and ground source heat pumps. There is also a special afternoon event aimed solely at architects, planners and developers between 3pm and 5pm.
