Good Job Danny!

I’ve never been a sports fanatic, although having been a sprinter as a kid I’ve always tuned in to the athletics. So, I hadn’t made any plans to watch the Olympics opening ceremony, much to the disapproval of my Mum, who insisted I change my mind!
In the end I was glad I watched as much as I could manage. One Tory MP may have thought it ‘a load of multicultural c*!p’ but I enjoyed it. My interest was lost in parts but unlike the narrow-minded MP who doesn’t deserve the courtesy of being named, I’m not conceited enough to imagine my perspective of the world is the only legitimate one.
Boyle had an immensely difficult job on his hands to engage the hugely diverse British public while reflecting those things that are quintessentially British - although he could have thrown in at least one red phone box!
I think Mr Boyle did a great job and I’m sure there must have been someone out there with the stamina to watch it all. I’m afraid though, that person wasn’t me, but I’m glad I tried.
